Notes to the Editor

CRCT has been in existence since 1987 offering technology transfer services to researchers and universities funded by The Cancer Research Campaign. CRCT has undertaken a large number of major licensing deals and collaborations and more recently, it has spun off a number of successful biotech companies from The Cancer Research Campaign portfolio including Cyclacel, KuDOS Pharmaceuticals and Photo Therapeutics.

CRV was spun off from CRCT in 1998 after being awarded a Department of Trade and Industry BEP award. This company was developed in response to a large number of requests to offer oncology based technology transfer services outside of The Cancer Research Campaign. In the two years since then, CRV has developed business relationships with a number of UK funding organisations and European research institutes and successfully commercialised several technologies from their research via collaboration/license deals and two start-up companies, Crusade Labs and Qugen Therapeutics.
