The PE ovarian adenocarcinoma panel is an ideal tool for research into the mechanism of oestragen action on ovarian adenocarcinoma tumour cells, and for the study of efficacy and toxicity of oestragen protagonists.
The PE panel demonstrate a range of concentrations of oestragen receptor expression, ranging from 0 to 132 fml/mg, and can therefore also be used as an in vitro model of ovarian adenocarcinoma at various stages of oestragen responsiveness.
The PE ovarian adenocarcinoma panel contains 9 cell lines derived from 4 patients at varying stages of ovarian adenocarcinoma, isolated from various malignant sites, and at various treatment stages, consisting of;
PEO1 (patient 1, peritoneal ascites, collected after cisplatin, 5-flurouracil and chlorambucil treatment)
PEO4 (patient 1, peritoneal ascites, collected after clinical resistance developed to chemotherapy)
PEO6 (patient 1, peritoneal ascites, collected at advanced, terminal stage disease)
PEA1 (patient 2, pleural effusion, collected prior to treatment)
PEA2 (patient 2, peritoneal ascites, collected on relapse after cisplatin and prednimustine treatment)
PEO16 (patient 3, peritoneal ascites, collected after radiotherapy)
PEO14 (patient 4, peritoneal ascites, collected prior to treatment)
TO14 (patient 4, solid metastasis, collected prior to treatment)
PEO23 (patient 4, peritoneal ascites, collected on relapse after cisplatin and chlorambucil treatment)
