| Antigen: |
Sialoadhesin domains 1-4
(Siglec0-1) |
| Relevance: |
The siglecs are a family
of membrane bound lectins (of the immunoglobulin superfamily)
that bind sialic acid and mediate cell-cell interactions.
Family members include sialoadhesin, CD22 and CD33.
Sialoadhesin is a macrophage-specific cell adhesion
molecule that is expressed on activated macrophages
in chronic inflammation and in tumours. |
