| Antigen: |
Protein kinase Cα. Epitope: within the variable region V3 PKCα (the site of limited proteolysis on the native enzyme). |
| Relevance: |
Protein Kinase C is a family of serine/threonine protein kinases that are activated by Ca2+, diacylglycerol and membrane phospholipids (phosphatidylserine). MC5 blocks partial proteolysis of PKC by trypsin in vitro. Fab fragment inhibits phorbol-ester-induced down-regulation of PKC in a rodent gloma cell line. |
