The EGFR family of type
I growth factor receptor tyrosine kinases includes EGFR
(HER1), c-erbB2 (HER2; neu), c-erbB3 (HER3) and c-erbB4
(HER4). c-erbB3
is normally found in non-dividing differentiated epithelial
cells, neurones and hepatocytes. It has approximately
80% prevalence in a wide variety of tumours of the gastro-intestinal
tract, and approximately 20% prevalence in breast cancer.
