| Antigen: |
Ufd1 Directed against a 40kd protein interacting with the ATPase p97 involved in membrane fusion |
| Relevance: |
The Ufd1 protein (human gene: UFD1L) forms a heterodimer with another protein, Npl4. Ufd1-Npl4 serves as an ubiquitin-adapter for the VCP/p97 AAA ATPase. The ATPase complex is required for endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation and regulation of spindle dynamics, and nuclear envelope formation after mitosis. |
