Anti-IL-3 Antibody Profile

Antigen: Interleukin-3 (IL-3)
Relevance: Interleukin 3 (also called Multiple Colony Stimulating Factor) is a 15kDa, pleiotropic cytokine that is secreted by activated T lymphocytes, epithelial cells and astrocytes. IL-3 stimulates clonal proliferation and differentiation of various types of blood and tissue cells. It acts in hematopoiesis by controlling the production, differentiation, and function of two related white cell populations of the blood, the granulocytes and the monocytes/macrophages. IL-3 not only supports growth of both pluripotent stem cells and the more differentiated committed progenitors, but it also stimulates the functional activity of some fully differentiated cells. IL-3 has also been shown to protect mast cells from undergoing apoptosis
